Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course

Specially tailored for those who work with children, this course covers the key first aid techniques required in emergency situations. Participants will learn how to perform CPR, handle choking incidents, and treat injuries, ensuring they can provide effective care in critical situations involving children.

About Course:

Aimed at individuals who need essential first aid knowledge for emergencies involving children, this course focuses on life-saving techniques such as CPR and managing injuries. Attendees will learn to provide prompt and effective care in critical situations, boosting confidence in dealing with paediatric emergencies.

Objectives:

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider, including incident reporting and infection control.
  • Assess emergency situations safely and conduct a primary survey on infants and children.
  • Provide effective CPR and use an AED on infants and children.
  • Place an unresponsive breathing infant or child into the recovery position.
  • Provide first aid to an infant or child who is choking.
  • Manage bleeding and provide first aid for shock.
  • Treat minor injuries, such as cuts, bumps, grazes, and nosebleeds.
  • Recognise and respond to common childhood emergencies in line with current UK guidance.

Course Requirements:

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

Certification:

Upon successful completion, participants will receive an accredited first aid certificate. Certificates are emailed within 2 weeks of course completion, with paper copies available upon request.
