Aim:
To give information on behaviours that are challenging so that learners can adapt their skills in order to maintain a person centred approach and allow an individual they are assisting to maintain well-being and a fulfilled life.
Objectives:
Outline the different levels of training involved supporting people whose behaviours may challenge
Explore and define the term ‘Behaviours that Challenge’
List some of the behaviours that challenge within learner’s own workplace
Outline why behaviours may occur including functions and theories of behaviour
State what could trigger these behaviours and some of the warning signs that may occur
Describe ways to reduce the risk of these behaviours occurring
